Day four of the Paris Summer Olympics on July 30 saw Korea win a bronze medal each in table tennis and judo.

In table tennis, the mixed doubles team of Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin won the country's first Olympic medal in the event since the 2012 London Olympics.

The duo beat Hong Kong's Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem, 4-0 (11-5, 11-7, 11-7, 14-12) in the bronze medal game.

North Korea, meanwhile, won its first medal of the Paris Games as its mixed doubles team of Ri Jong Sik and Kim Kum Yong took the silver in the event.

Judoka Lee Joonhwan, ranked No. 3 in the world, secured a hard-earned victory in the bronze medal match in the men's 81-kg class at the Champ-de-Mars Arena in Paris. He beat world No. 1 Matthias Casse of Belgium by half a point in overtime.

"I feel that this Olympics broadened my horizons," Lee told reporters at the joint coverage zone after the match. "I gained more confidence to wear the gold around my neck at the Los Angeles Olympics."

As of July 31 at 11 a.m. Korean Standard Time, Korea had five golds, three silvers and three bronze, ranking fifth in the overall standings.
