Korea has won the men's sabre team competition in fencing at the Paris Summer Olympics for the third straight time.
Gu Bon-gil, Park Sang-won, Oh Sang-uk and Do Gyeong-dong on July 31 clinched victory over Hungary, 45-41, in the finals at the Grand Palais in Paris.
This is the third straight gold for the team following those in the 2012 London and 2020 Tokyo Games. The team event was excluded in the 2016 Rio Olympics due to the rotation system.
Winning Korea's first gold of the Paris Games on July 28, team ace Oh became Korea's first double gold medalist of this Olympics and the first in the nation's history to grab two in fencing.
The mixed doubles table tennis team of Chae Yu Jung (left) and Seo Seung Jae on July 31 beats the Hong Kong duo of Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet, 2-0 (21-15, 21-10), in the quarterfinals at La Chapelle Arena in Paris.
In badminton, Team Korea secured at least a silver medal in mixed doubles thanks to the teams of Seo Seung Jae and Chae Yu Jung and Kim Won Ho and Jeong Na Eun on July 31 winning their respective quarterfinal matches at La Chapelle Arena.
The semifinal showdown between these two duos of Taegeuk Warriors is on Aug. 1.
