Exhibitions from both domestic and foreign museums and of art collections will be held in Busan.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Oct. 21 said that from Oct. 24-27, it will hold the inaugural "Museum Connected," an expo of museums and art collections, at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, or BEXCO, in Busan. National, public and private museums, art galleries and exhibition-related industries will participate.

First, the event's leading exhibition "Collector's Room" will feature a space to commemorate the vision and accomplishments of art collectors who dedicated themselves to the development of museums like Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chull. The event will shed new insights on the artifacts and paintings they loved.

Among the works featured are Hunminjeongeum Haeryebon, a commentary on the classic textbook of the Korean alphabet Hangeul, and vases from six domestic museums: Hoam Museum of Art, Whanki Museum, Kansong Art Museum, Onyang Folk Museum, Horim Museum and Emile Museum.

The exhibition "Classics: Repository of Inspiration" will show reinterpretations of old works by 11 contemporary artists such as Shin Mi-gyung, Lee Soo-gyung and Heo Sang-wook. Visitors can see the process of rendering traditional art into modern versions.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In Chon said, "We hope that this exhibition can help reduce the culture gap between regions and further enrich the creativity and imagination of regional artists."
