The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will explain its main cultural policy at the Group of 20 (G20) Culture Ministers' Meeting in Brazil.

First Vice Minister Yong Hoseong on Nov. 8 will attend the event in Salvador, the ministry said on Nov. 7.

He will present benchmarks of Korean cultural policy such as support for promoting education on culture and arts; setting of copyright norms in artificial intelligence and the digital environment; and help in content policy financing and development of cultural technology.

The official will also hold bilateral talks with participants from member states of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to seek support for Korea's hosting of a high-level conference on the occasion of next year's APEC Summit in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.

Attending the ministerial meeting will be vice culture ministers from G20 and invited countries and staff from leading international organizations such as UNESCO and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

This year, each country will share its policy on topics like cultural diversity, social inclusion and copyright standards in the digital environment and discuss cooperation. The results of the talks will be adopted in a joint statement led by the chair country Brazil.

On Nov. 6, Vice Minister Yong and Brazilian Minister of Culture Margareth Menezes held talks and concluded a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cultural cooperation.
