Pianist Lim Yunchan has won the prestigious music award Diapason d'Or (Golden Tuning Fork) of France in the Young Musician category.
His management agency Moc Production on Nov. 18 said Lim on Nov. 13 in France received the honor for his album "Chopin’s Etudes Opp. 10 and 25."
Given by the French classical music magazine Diapason, the award is one of the world's most prestigious of its kind along with the Gramophone Classical Music Awards of the U.K. The Diapason goes to an outstanding album every month.
At the end of the year, Diapason selects the best of the best for the yearly prize.
In June, Lim won the award for the same album.
He also became the nation's first pianist last month to win two awards at the Gramophones, dubbed the Oscars of classical music, for the album.
