Seoul Plaza Ice Skating Rink will be opened on Dec. 20 with an admission fee of KRW 1,000.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Dec. 17 said the opening ceremony was scheduled for 6 p.m., with the annual winter attraction to run for 52 days through Feb. 9.
The rink will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and public holidays. If the ultrafine dust level exceeds a certain level, however, use of the facility could be restricted.
Foreign tourists with the Discover Seoul Pass can use the rink free. Exclusively for visitors from abroad, the pass allows use of tourist attractions in the capital at no charge.
The KRW 1,000 admission fee includes rental of skates and safety equipment such as kneepads. Use of a helmet is free for the first hour, and glove rental is KRW 1,500.
In addition to skating, visitors can also try other winter activities. From Dec. 20-31, an esports promotion pavilion will be held on the permanent stage of Seoul Plaza, and the media wall on the first floor of Seoul City Hall will offer interactive visual experiences.
More information on the rink like online reservations and the schedule is available on the facility's official website (https://seoulskate.kr).
