Expats will get 10% off on international express mail service (EMS) at post offices in Seoul, plus another 3% discount if they use simple advance registration.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Sept. 27 said it will sign a business agreement with the Seoul Regional Communications Office to expand a support project for EMS discounts for multicultural families to cover foreign residents.
Those eligible must hold one of the following visas: F-6 (marriage immigrant), D-2 (student visa), D-4 (general study), E-9 (non-professional employee), H-2 (working visit), F-4 (overseas Korean), F-5 (permanent resident), D-10 (job seeker), F-1 (visit or join family), F-2 (resident) and F-3 (family dependant). Also qualifying are those who received approval for marriage immigration or naturalization per Article 2, Paragraph 2, of the Multicultural Families Support Act.
The city also eased limitations and conditions for expats to get EMS discounts. Regardless of residential area, a foreign resident who visits a post office in the capital including a temporary postal booth can get the benefit when sending mail or parcels anywhere abroad.
To receive the discount, expats and multicultural families must bring ID such as a resident or alien registration card, domestic residence report card, or family relationship or basic certificate.
More information on the discount is available on Hanultari for Multicultural Families (https://www.mcfamily.or.kr), a website under Seoul Family Center, or Seoul Foreigner Portal (https://global.seoul.go.kr).
