재외동포재단은 역량 있는 재외동포 영화인들과 작품을 국내에 소개하고 국내 영화계와의 연계를 통한 상호 발전의 기회를 제공하여 재외동포 영화 인력의 성장기반을 마련키 위해 아래와 같이 < 2006 재외동포 영화인 대회 > 를 개최하오니 재외동포 영화인들의 많은 참여를 바랍니다 .

2006 Overseas Korean Filmmakers Congress

 

The Overseas Koreans Foundation (OKF) is pleased to present an Overseas Korean Filmmakers Congress to introduce overseas Korean filmmakers and their work in Korea . To foster and support overseas Korean filmmakers, 15 filmmakers will be invited to participate in the event. This event will also provide a valuable opportunity for cultural exchanges among overseas Korean filmmakers and local filmmakers.

  Description of the Event

    a. Title: 2006 Overseas Korean Filmmakers Congress

    b. Program:

       - Participation in the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) Asian Film Market 
       - Meetings with Korean and international filmmakers and experts

    c. Dates: Sunday, October 15, 2006 – Friday, October 20, 2006 (5 nights 6 days)

    d. Location: Busan

    e. Number of Participants: 15

  Entry Application

    a. Eligibility: Overseas Korean filmmakers

    b. Application Deadline: Friday, August 11, 2006

    c. Required Application Materials:

       -Entry application is available at www.okf.or.kr or local Korean authority [Download]
       -film produced after January 2004 in video (NTSC) or DVD format
         * If the script is not in Korean, please submit a copy of the script
            that is translated into Korean
       -Synopsis of the film and descriptions of the main characters 
         (about 1 page of A4 paper) 
       -Bio/CV and description the artist(s), producer(s), and major staff of the production (in a free format)

       -Verification of Residence Eligibility: 
         * Foreign Citizen: a copy of passport or a proof of citizenship 
         * Permanent Resident: A copy of Permanent Resident Passport 
            (Please send a copy of the personal information page in the passport 
             Also include the pages of extended expiration if available) 
        * Long-Term Resident (5 years or more): overseas resident identification card issued 
                                                                   by the local authority

  Selection and Notification:

    a. Selection: OKF advisory committee will select applicants based on submitted materials.

    b. Notification: Selected applicants will be notified in September in person and the list will be posted
       on OKF's website.

  Other Information:

    a. Round trip airfare (economy class) and accommodation will be provided by OKF

    b. Participation in the Pusan International Film Festival Asian Film Market will be arranged by OKF
